Classes & Programs
HealthFit offers an array of classes and programs designed to appeal to our members’ many interests, time schedules and fitness levels. Try a few, and you’ll find what works for your personal fitness goals. And always feel free to ask our professional staff for consultation.
Therapeutic Splash. A group, recreational, water-based exercise program designed for people with arthritis and related diseases.
Sit Fit. In this a low-impact aerobic class, participants re seated in a chair. Upper and lower body strength and balance are the focus. Great for beginners.
Zumba. A fusion of Latin and international music. Simple routines combining aerobic and fitness interval training that tone and sculpt the body.
Mind & Body
Balance & Stretch. Stand tall and walk with confidence in this class designed to improve on your balance and flexibility. This class will help you overcome your fear of falling.
HealthFit offers private Pilates sessions on the Reformer and Cadillac, Mat Pilates classes and Group Reformer classes. Take your Pilates training to the next level with personalized private instruction.
Muscle Up. Get a complete body workout with weights, bands, and body weight. Working on form and technique to get the definition you’ve been looking for.
Cycling. An invigorating cardio workout performed on a stationary bike based on sound cycling principles. Classes focus on cadence, heart-rate zones, sport-specific drills, climbs and “spin-ups” that can make an unpredictable ride that is fun and challenging.
Parkinson’s Big Strides with Exercise
If you’re living with Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis or a progressive neurological disorder, you know better than anyone that it takes more than medication to regain independence. It takes courage and initiative to live your most fulfilling life – and expert resources to empower your success.
HealthFit offers a supervised exercise program designed to fight bone loss due to osteoporosis. As a member, a free support group is available to you on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 11am – 12pm in the large classroom.
HealthFit is pleased to offer Fitness Forward, a medically integrated program for stroke recovery. Created by HealthFit under the guidance of nationally renowned neurological experts from Sarasota Memorial’s Comprehensive Stroke Center, this program addresses challenges specific to stroke patients, including loss of flexibility, balance and strength and overall wellness.
A VO2 Max Test is a measurement that reflects a person’s ability to perform sustained exercise. It is generally considered the best indicator of cardiovascular fitness and aerobic endurance. The actual measurement is “milliliters of oxygen used in one minute per kilogram of body weight.” It is suitable for a wide range of individuals, from the sedentary to elite athletes.

HealthFit offers a supervised exercise program designed to promote cardiac health and wellness. The program features 8 sessions per month every Tuesday & Thursday from 11am-noon.
Balance issues affect many people, even after rehabilitation, which is why HealthFit created InBalance. This innovative program provides balance conditioning customized to your individual challenges.
Kids Summer Camp
Not sure what to do with the kids over summer break? Sign them up for fitness and fun at HealthFit Summer Kids Camp! They can join us for a day, a week or all summer! HealthFit’s camp offers a full slate of fun-filled, kid-style health and fitness activities. Summer camp will run June 7 through Aug. 11 and is open to member and non-member families.
Moms in Motion
Moms in Motion is a free service available to prenatal and postnatal moms who are scheduled or have delivered at Sarasota Memorial. HealthFit offers a variety of classes to moms who want maintain a healthy, strong, toned body.
A one-on-one lesson with a fully certified STOTT Pilates instructor. This lesson will review the Five Basic Principals of the STOTT Pilates method and introduces the participant to the Reformer, the set up and how it is used in a class format. The lesson also includes a postural analysis and assessment of individual goals.
Swim Kids USA
The Swim Kids USA and HealthFit partnership offers swim lessons to participants from ages 1 through Adult. Group lessons are separated by age groups and are held at the north end of the large swimming pool.

Thrive Oncology Program
Designed for cancer survivors and their caregivers, the Thrive Program’s free, oncology-specific, group fitness classes include yoga, Tai Chi, guided meditation and oncology recovery exercise.
Weight Management & Nutrition Programs
Providing counseling on menu selection, meal content, food selection, portion control, sports nutrition and weight management. Nutrition education specific to a disease or disorder is also provided, including but not limited to, Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiac Health, and Osteoporosis.
HealthFit offers support groups at no additional fee to members for Osteoporosis or Heart Health. Check out the days and times below and feel the support!
