Types of Therapeutic Massage Available at HealthFit

Our massage rooms are located off of the men’s and women’s locker rooms. They provide a private a relaxing environment with heated tables for maximum therapeutic effect and comfort.

Swedish Massage

Combines time-honored massage methods with the latest techniques to create a relaxing, stress-relieving massage. This relaxing form of massage involves long, slow strokes, with kneading and friction techniques to relieve tension in the body.

Deep Tissue Massage

Targets specific areas of the body to relieve pain and increase mobility, and for the relief of some conditions and injuries. It is used in combination with active and passive movements of the joints.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Utilizes static pressure on specific myofascial points to relieve pain. This technique manipulates soft tissue of the body (muscles, tendons, connective tissue) to balance the central nervous system.

Trigger Point Therapy

Involves gentle compressions on the trigger point areas of the body, working reflexively through a nerve relay to relax and lengthen the muscle.

Chair Massage

Specifically suited to those who are ‘crunched’ for time. It is also an effective and convenient way to boost productivity during stressful times.

Oncology Massage*

Modified treatment performed by an oncology certified therapist, for cancer patients or survivors. Created to help alleviate any symptoms or side effects related to your specific diagnosis.

Prenatal Massage*

Safe and comfortable side-position massage. Depending on where you are in your pregnancy, your therapist will utilize a variety of massage techniques to alleviate pregnancy symptoms, which might include: headaches, muscle tension created by carrying extra weight, leg cramps, swelling and muscle spasms.

Cupping

A technique in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. Intended to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep tissue massage.
